When you are driving between Perth and Inverness on A9 Road, you will notice an unassuming detour for Atholl Road. Taking the Ferry or motoring to Glen Tilt and taking a short walk will bring to you the stunning vision of the Blair Castle which has housed members of the Atholl family for over 750 years. The castle was the first in Scotland to be open to visitors and provides a visitor with all of the majesty and history of Scotland in a single location. Be sure to spend time exploring the attic and hidden rooms, which you need to request to see when you visit. After spending time in the castle, wander the nine acres of the Hercules gardens. This garden is completely enclosed and provides statues, ponds, glorious gardens and award winning landscape.
